Gyeyang Sanseong

- Gyeyang Hill-fort, as a stone castle built in the period of the Three States, is called Gosanseong, and is located at the 230m spot of the easterly ridgeline of the mt.Gyeyang main peak. It is recorded in "Jeungbomunheonbigo" that this caselte was built in a defense fortess in the period of the Three States and the circumference is 1,937 cheog(587m), but now it is disused". Considering that Jungikjin wasestablished in Byeongbang-dong,beneath Mt. Gyeyang Hill-fort in King Saejo in Joseon Dynasty, it had played a role of walls on a hill of Bupyeong since the era of the Three States.
Gyeyang Sanseong (Castle) (Incheon Metropolitan City's Memorial Material No. 10)
Located at a low peak at San 10 Gyesan-dong at the level of 230m out-stretched east from Mt.Gyeyang (Height 394.9m), Gyeyang (Stone) Sanseong was built in Three- Kingdom Period withTemoe Style (along the ridge) in Naetak way. Called Gosanseong in another name. Currently allthe stone walls collapsed but only the ruins of castle is left only now. According to the record of Shinjeung Donggukyeoji Seungram, 1,937 cheoks of wall fell down. As result of actual measurement, the total length of the castle was 1,180m (Survey Report for Surface of GyeyangSanseong). Exterior of castle was erected 5 meters high with well-polished stones. Having Kimpo plain of the Han River basin to northeast and the Incheon Port - Gate to West Sea to southwest, this place is the key point of transportation connected to Seoul, capital city and an important place for major waterway transportation in military and economic aspects from the old days. It took an important role for military purpose being situated under Baesan-Imsu which means 'mountain at the back, water in the front' that consists of basic geological condition enabling protection from enemy and north wind. Especially the castle was built with the middle part of ridge protruded as its center that makes the inside of castle to be exposed to four directions. Currently inspection is being made to restore the castle, result of which shows its high historical value.

- Car : Go straight ahead in the Gyeongin Expressway Bupyeong IC toward Gyeyang →Turn to the right at Gyesan Samgeori→Turn to the left at the first intersection →Pass through Yeonmujeong in front of Gyeyang-gu Ward Office→Climb (about 20 minutes)→ Yukgakjeong. You can see the traces of Gyeyang Hill-fort in the surroundings.
- Subway : Incheon Subway No1 line→Get off at Gyesan Station→Pass through Yeonmujeong →Climb(about 20 minutes)→Yukgakjeong You can see the traces of Gyeyang Hill-fort in the surroundings.
- Bus : No 24 or 30 or 45 in Bupyeong Station→Get off at Gyesan Samgeori→Go across the road→Gyeyang-gu Ward Office.(10 minutes required for walking)→Pass through Yeonmujeong in front of Gyeyang-gu Ward Office→Climb(20 minutes)→Yukgakjeong.You can see the traces of Gyeyang hill-fort in the surroundings
