Originally Dohobu Hall was located at Jabukbu 2-ri (898 Gyesan-dong). At present, old hall building in modified shape is left in the playground of Bupyeong Elementary School addressed at 934 Gyesan-dong, where the traces of Gyesan-dong Ginko Tree (Memorial Material No. 11),Yogeunji (Cultural Properties-Data No. 1) and Eosadae (Cultural Properties-Data No. 3) are left in front of the Dohobu Hall.
Bupyeong Dohobu Hall is reported to have been restored in the 3rd year of King Sukjong's reign (1677), but the reason why it was built here is not known exactly. Its names were Annam Dohobu in the 4th year of King Euijong's reign in Koryo Dynasty (1150), Gyeyang Dohobu in the 2nd year of King Gohjong's reign (1215) and Bupyeong Dohobu (promoted from Bupyeongbu) in the 13th year of King Taejong in Chosun Dynasty (1413). Therefore, its construction is deemed to have started when promoted to Bupyeong Dohobu, and then completed approx five years later (the 18th year of King Taejong's reign, 1418), when the ginko tree that is approx. 600 years old was planted for the purpose of landscape at that time. According to the record, it was originally a stately building with 23 dong 23 kan in total including Gaeksa, Dong/Suhheon, Sammun, Geunmin-dang, Jwawuik-rang, Dongsuhchaekbang, Saryeongcheong, Hyangcheong, Podocheong, Hunmudang, Buchangdeung, but a Naea is left only at present. Originally it was built in the shape of 'ㄱ‘ letter, but it was changed into 'ㅡ’ lettered building with a hipped and gabled roof Dorijib building with 6 kans at front and 2 kan at side after it moved to the present location in 1968.
